For some reason sweetened condensed milk is not produced in Turkey. It is possible to find imported brands in some big warehouses or gross markets but sometimes they run out of their stocks. Well, I’m not going to wait until this product is back in stock to make my No-Bake Cheesecake or my Ginger Pumpkin Tart for example! I honestly don’t have that kind of patience. Plus, if I’m having difficulty in finding this product, most of my readers and followers will certainly be confronted with the same obstacle too! So I had to find a way to ‘make my own’ 🙂
The reasoning behind it is quite simple. Instead of waiting for milk to simmer down slowly and become condensed, you just use powdered milk or dry milk instead and sugar. You also need to add some butter since dry milk is a nonfat product.
